We are on a roll this week, talking and chatting to some experts in this industry! Today, we are chatting with Anizah from TrulyScrumptious! . TrulyScrumptious! came about in the last 3 years and was conceptualised as a little home bakery. Anizah's goodies cater to different celebrations including weddings which is one of her core segments, creating beautiful and elegant cakes that delight all her customers. Passionate in her baking, the business has now grown and operates from a dedicated baking and decorating kitchen instead of her home kitchen. We asked Anizah to impart some expert advice on destination wedding cakes to our dear readers.
JFT: Which one to you is more important? The look or taste of the cake?
Anizah of TS: It ' s a cake - so it should taste fabulous but it ' s a centrepiece as well, so it also has to look the part!!
JFT: Where can couples get inspiration for their wedding cakes?
Anizah of TS: Couples can incorporate elements of their location - from the local flowers, seashells from the beachside location or the decor of their wedding venue.
JFT: What should brides keep in mind when ordering a wedding cake for a destination wedding?
Anizah of TS: If the cake has to travel, then brides will have to take into consideration travelling time and the type of cake you choose. Best not to order a layered cake with fresh cream and strawberries if it has to travel to an island in a car and then a boat under the hot sun.
JFT: What would the trend be for wedding cakes in 2010?
JFT: What would the trend be for wedding cakes in 2010?
Anizah of TS: Topsy -turvy cakes, metallic cakes and combination cake and cupcakes.
