Love love these retro inspired engagement photos taken in Sabah by Louis Pang. What is it that makes these photos emit volume of retro vibe? The big flowery prints on the dress or is it the dark 60s style sunglasses and hairdo on the bride-to-be?

Remember that accessories like sunglasses are great props for a photo shoot. Even wearing the bright cheery yellow boots won't hurt either and actually adds a whimsical touch. It makes the photos seem light-hearted and the couple seemed like they were having a blast!

Yes, doing a lakeside wedding can be tricky as there may not be many lakeside venues available for rent. However, you are still able to pull off lakeside wedding photography as in Malaysia, we do have a few beautiful lakes as options. We found these two lovely photos that we hope will inspire you.

{Trends Alert} Dressing Up Your Chairs

Our next trend alert is all about dressing up your chairs for your wedding guests. The trends seem to point more towards using fresh flowers and ferns to decorate chair-backs. Pick flowers that are in season as choosing those that are not may be too costly. Additionally, if you are having an outdoor wedding such as a beach or garden wedding, it is important to ask the florist which flowers are suitable especially in our warm and humid Asian weather. Withered flowers are definitely not a pretty sight during weddings.

Alternatively, you may also use other decorative items to dress up your chairs like this pretty palm leave fan that is slipped between the tieback ribbons.

To save on cost, just use pretty ribbons in bright colours for a clean streamlined effect perhaps.

You may even be surprised that the cost of bringing over your own photographer may be cheaper than hiring one at the destination wedding and most of these photographers are willing to travel economically to get the job done. And it will also simplify liaising before the big day.

Colours! Colour! With a Capital C!

Our next entry is about being exciting and going bold....with colours!

Well....we're not technically saying the white is a dull colour. It has always been the traditional colour of most weddings. But we think a little colour won't hurt. And we think incorporating bright colour palettes into the decor of a destination wedding is inspiring and refreshing, like orange, fuschia pink, lime green, turqouise, yellow and many more.

Just look at the colourful inspiration boards we have. Aren't they are all great, fabulous bright colours. Think bright colours that will compliment your wedding destination venue and that can also reflect your style, and fun side of your personality (hey, anyway, we think destination weddings are supposed to be more fun than traditional weddings).

Colours can be incorporated into various aspects. Your table settings, bridesmaids dresses, wedding favours, cushion covers! Layer your colours and use them in varying depths and shades.
